Who's
leading in the Market? Mukto-mona,
Shodalap or Vinnomot?

Over the last couple of years we are bombarded by
hundreds of e-mails from our mambers and readers asking: How
many people read Mukto-mona website daily? Is readership of MM
increasing? Decreasing? How many hits you get monthly? How does
Mukto-mona compare to other similar websites? Is vinnomot much
popular compared to MM? How much is shodalap's readership?
Who is the most popular among the three?

"Well...it's a very sensitive and complicated issue",
we would have answered - because it really was, at least
initially. But, now - by the grace of alexa.com
- we can share the information about how Mukto-mona has been
ranked (as of today Jan 26, 2004) compared, for perspective, to a sampling of other websites
like vinnomot, shodalap, banglaamar, jamatepislami, hrcbm, drishtipat etc.- some
are progressive, some humanitarian, some are theocratic or
perhaps even communal.
Alexa ranks every site on the web based on number of users
and number of pageturns over a
3-month period of time to calculate a website's popularity. The
result shows that internationally we're "not at the top" yet - but we're
gradually moving up.
Nevertheless, among the similar type of Bengali e-forums and
web-sites, Mukto-mona's readership has been ranked much
higher position compared to others.
